Avalanche Dancespace er en frivillig forening skabt af passionerede dansere fra Aarhus og omegn. Vi arbejder for at støtte hiphop-danseres individuelle og kollektive udvikling – både gennem træning, kreativ udfoldelse og fællesskab.
Hos os møder du internationale danselærere, der bringer deres unikke stil og erfaring ind i rummet, og vi tilbyder et miljø, hvor der er plads til forskellige behov og måder at udvikle sig på. Mange af vores medlemmer er tidligere konkurrencedansere, som har mistet gejsten ved det ensidige fokus på én årlig koreografi. Hos Avalanche finder de en ny form for konkurrence og performance, hvor kreativitet, utraditionel koreografiudvikling og glæden ved dansen er i centrum.
Vi tror på involvering og medbestemmelse. Derfor inviterer vi alle unge dansere til at blive en del af Avalanche-familien – et fællesskab, hvor du kan forme din egen danserejse og føle ejerskab over både din udvikling og foreningens.
Her kombinerer vi det bedste fra to verdener: den energiske, nyskabende ånd fra verdens hiphop- og street dance-hotspots og den professionelle, personlige undervisning fra vores erfarne internationale undervisere. På den måde bliver undervisningen ikke kun en mulighed for at udvikle dig som danser, men også en kulturel oplevelse, der bringer dig tættere på det globale hiphop-community.

AVALANCHE DANCESPACE
Our driving force is your passion and commitment!
Avalanche Dancespace is a volunteer-run community founded by a group of passionate dancers from Aarhus and the surrounding area. We are dedicated to supporting the individual and collective growth of hip-hop dancers, offering a place where creativity, professionalism, and community meet.
At Avalanche, we believe that dance is more than just movement – it is a journey of self-expression, cultural exchange, and personal development. That is why we have carefully created a space that combines high-level training with inclusivity, freedom, and creativity.
One of the cornerstones of our work is the selection of international teachers. We handpick experienced instructors from around the world who bring their own unique styles, knowledge, and energy to our studio. This means that our members gain direct access to the global hip-hop and street dance scene, right here in Aarhus. Every workshop and training session is not only about learning steps but also about being inspired by the culture and spirit behind the dance.
We also understand that young dancers have very different needs when it comes to development. Some are searching for strong technique, others for creativity, performance skills, or simply a safe space to grow in confidence. Avalanche supports all of these paths. We create opportunities for dancers to evolve both as individuals and as part of a collective – always with the dancer’s personal journey at the center.
For many of our members, competition dance was once a big part of their lives. Yet, over time, the focus on one fixed routine for an entire year drained the joy and creativity from their practice. At Avalanche, they rediscover their love for dance. We offer an alternative approach to competition and performance, one that is based on innovation, exploration, and collaboration. Our dancers are encouraged to challenge themselves with original choreography and to develop their own style, while still having the chance to experience the thrill of performing and competing.
Just as important as the training is the way we run our community. Avalanche is built on involvement and shared ownership. We invite every young dancer who joins us to take part in shaping the direction of the association, their own dance education, and the collective environment we create together. Being part of Avalanche means having a voice, feeling a sense of belonging, and contributing to something bigger than yourself.
We combine the best of two worlds: the dynamic and innovative spirit of the global hip-hop and street dance hotspots, and the professional, personal guidance of our international teachers. This unique mix ensures that our members not only grow as dancers but also connect to a wider cultural movement that unites people across borders.
Joining Avalanche is not only about dance classes – it is a cultural experience.
