Aarhus Watersports Complex – A Community Driven by Passion for Watersports
Aarhus Watersports Complex (AWC) is much more than just a wakeboard park. We are a vibrant and welcoming community built around a shared passion for watersports, inclusion, and creating unforgettable experiences on the water. Located in the heart of Aarhus, Denmark, our unique setting on the harbor provides an inspiring environment for people of all ages and skill levels to connect, grow, and have fun.
AWC is a non-profit organization with approximately 500 active members. We’re driven by a strong sense of community and powered by a dedicated team that includes a committed volunteer board, two full-time staff members, and a dynamic group of seasonal and part-time employees. Everyone involved in AWC – from our instructors to our café staff to our operators – shares a common goal: to deliver high-quality watersports experiences in a safe, inclusive, and energetic environment.
Our focus is on providing top-notch service and maintaining a high level of professionalism in everything we do. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned wakeboarder, we’re here to guide, support, and challenge you. From your first ride to your 100th, we strive to make every moment on the water exciting, memorable, and filled with progress. We take pride in helping people push their boundaries, overcome fears, and discover the thrill of gliding across the water.
What truly sets AWC apart is our community spirit. We believe that watersports are a powerful way to bring people together – to build friendships, develop new skills, and foster confidence both on and off the water. That’s why we don’t just run a cable park; we create a social hub where people feel welcome, valued, and inspired. It’s a place where high-fives, laughter, and shared passion are just as important as tricks and technique.
Throughout the season, we host a variety of events, competitions, member activities, and school or group sessions, ensuring there’s always something going on for everyone to enjoy. From local kids trying wakeboarding for the first time to international riders participating in competitions, our park is a melting pot of talent, curiosity, and shared joy.
We also place great emphasis on development and accessibility. Our team works hard to break down barriers to entry, offering introductory courses for schools, programs for underserved groups, and affordable options for memberships and season passes. We believe everyone should have the chance to experience the thrill of watersports – regardless of their background or experience level. Watersports should be fun, safe, and within reach for all.
Sustainability is also a key value at AWC. We are committed to minimizing our environmental impact through conscious choices in operations, equipment, and facility maintenance. We want future generations to enjoy both the water and the planet.
Beyond the daily rides, AWC is a place for lifelong memories. It's where friends gather after work for a sunset session, where school classes laugh their way through their first attempts on the board, and where families spend weekends cheering each other on. We’ve seen friendships form, fears conquered, and even a few marriage proposals on our dock.
Our café and lounge area offer space to relax, grab a coffee or snack, and connect with others in the community. Whether you're drying off after a session or just enjoying the view, the social aspect is central to the AWC experience.
AWC also has a growing role in the national and Nordic wakeboarding scene. We support young talent through our A-Team elite riders, contribute to the development of the sport, and collaborate with other parks to grow a stronger wakeboarding culture in Scandinavia.
Looking ahead, our vision is to create a permanent home for watersports in Aarhus with upgraded facilities, a full-size cable, and year-round access. We dream big – not just for the sport, but for the people who love it.
Safety, inclusion, and professionalism are at the core of our operations. Our staff is trained not only to manage the technical side of the cable and equipment but to create a friendly, supportive, and motivating atmosphere for everyone who visits. You’ll be greeted with a smile, a high five, and genuine excitement to get you on the water.
Whether you're here for a single session, a season, or several years, we hope you’ll find more than just a sport – we hope you’ll find belonging, passion, and a little bit of magic.
We can’t wait to welcome you to AWC. Come as you are, bring your curiosity, and let’s make waves together.
See you on the water!
